Literature Text

The Karjamian Morph Granting Technology, particularly the incarnation Blue K has, can, in many ways, be considered a superior version of the Andalite's Escafil device.

The few things the two have in common are granting shapeshifters the ability to use "thought speech" and the fact that one has to acquire new forms manually. However, that's where the similarity ends.

The KMGT is vastly superior when it comes to acquiring new forms. One can use senses other than touch to "scan" new forms. In addition, it's possible to scan "models" of creatures to gain forms without seeing said creature in person. Through the use of difficult processes, it's also possible to create new forms without the use of scanning them beforehand. On the flip side, the KMGT doesn't tranquilize the creature being scanned, unlike the Escafil device which does.

The transitions between transformations also work differently between the KMGT and the Escafil device. While the Escafil device is limited to the traditional style of morphing individual body parts, the KMGT also allows one to either glow while transforming or to cover themselves in mist. The KMGT allows one to customize their transitions, allowing one to either vary their speeds, combine them together or even change the appearances of the transitions.

Another thing different between the two technology is the way they treat the "instincts" of each form. While the KMGT doesn't give a being instincts any more than it gives them innate urges, reflexes and moods, the Escafil device would instead, gives its user what basically amounts to a second mind.

The KMGT is designed not to rely on specific elements within a world in order to work properly. In turn, this means it doesn't need the availability of Z-space in order to function.

Lastly, the limits that exists within the Escafil Device doesn't within the KMGT, an example of this being the amount of time one's allowed to stay within a morph. While the Escafil Device limits that amount of time to 2 Earth hours before the user gets permanently trapped in their new form, the KMGT allows one to endlessly stay within an alternate form without any sort of consequences.

An interesting fact is that the KMGT is designed to adapt towards other transformation methods. In other words, it's possible to have both the KMGT and the Escafil device at the same time. The KMGT allows one to keep the best of both technologies as well as allowing both technologies to share the database of forms.
Was going to be a backstory snippet before I realised how much I've written. :o
